Poem

WHY I WILL NOT GET OUT OF BED!!

Fussing from the baby’s room

Moan, a glance at the clock

5:31 A.M.

Already, it’s too early

Come on Ray fall back asleep

Fussing changes to cooing

Good he found a toy

Back to sleep ahhh

Fussing again, see the clock

7:18 A.M.

Groan it’s still too early

Come on Ray fall back asleep

Compromise sleep till 8

Mommy is a night owl

BLOOD CURDLING SCREAM

Uh oh his foot must be stuck in the crib

No falling back to sleep now

Will get out of bed now

Not by choice.

Screams turn to smile when foot is released

The smile is returned.

The above is a poem I wrote for a creative writing class I took a couple of years ago. I thought it was fun and I really like how it turned out.

Productive Day

Yesterday was a very productive day for me. I was able to get Ray's room all ready for Tristan's Arrival. The crib is up and the room is all arranged and ready to go. I also got most of my stats homework done. YUCK!! I don't like stats. It is very hard work. I had to quit with only a 75% on the assignment.

My feet have started to swell now. Thank goodness it is not as bad as it was with Ray. It has come down overnight. I found some old pictures of when I was this far along with Ray. I decided to fly out to NYC to watch my best friend graduate from West Point and get married in Central Park. It was worth the week I had to spend in bed to get the swelling out from flying. I am going to try to upload a couple of pictures. One is from her wedding day. I was huge.

I gained almost 80 lbs when I was pregnant with Ray. This one so far it has only been 27 lbs. I am much less stressed out during this pregnancy. I suppose it helps when my husband isn't deployed this time and I know I wont have to do everything myself.

First Blog post ever

So this is my first ever blog. I will take a few and talk about myself and my family. I have been happily married to my husband for almost 5 years. We have a 2 1/2 Y/O named Ray. He is a ham. We are excitedly awaiting the birth of our second son Tristan Alexander. He is due March 22. We also have 2 cats, Simon and Mew. Simon is almost 5 and Mew is 1. We live in Duluth, MN. Both of us are full time college students. I am majoring in Business and have to decide what I am going to focus on later this semester. Alex, my husband, is a physical ed major. He will be joining me at UMD in the fall.
My husband and I met in the Army. I was active duty for 3 years and he was for 4. He deployed when I was pregnant with Ray and did not meet Ray until he was 8 months old. I never deployed thankfully.
I work part-time at Target and love it. A friend suggested that I start a blog a long time ago and I was too scared to put my thoughts out there for everyone to read but have decided to get over it and give it a try. Thanks Amber.
